Getting to MacFarland

MacFarland Middle School does not provide school bus transportation, but Metrorail and Metrobus are convenient options. Through the Kids Ride Free program (KRF), students with a KRF SmarTrip card can ride Metrorail and Metrobus to and from school for free from 5:30 AM to 9:00 AM and from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

By Metrorail, MacFarland MS is an 11 minute walk from the Georgia Avenue - Petworth (Yellow/Green Line) stop. By Metrobus, MacFarland MS is accessible by lines 52, 54, 59, 60, 62, 63, 70, 79, D33, S1, S2, S4, S9, and W45.

Students who choose to bike should wear a helmet, and bring a bike lock to secure their bike during the school day. Parents and guardians are also welcome to drop-off students.
